Glimsity was founded in 2012 in Savannah, Georgia to offer online users a way to meet professionals and walk in doors of local businesses to get a feel, prior to making buying decisions.
Founder Carol Wirth sought to adapt her now decades’ worth of PR tools to the digital audience. Carol learned the art of documentary filmmaking to convey the stories of local businesses and organizations.
“After more than 15 years in public relations with roots in journalism, I reached a point where I needed to find what I was passionate about in my profession or find a new one. I thought I would come out of the process changing careers. Instead, I found what I truly love about the one I’ve already got: Telling people’s stories.
Everyone’s got a story – it’s what makes people (and people make up businesses) who they are, it’s their personality, their difference. We find the story, pull it out, make it relevant and communicate it to the public. Through Glimsity, we simply found another way to communicate the stories – through video.”
